Two Technion Institute students from Israel greeted and hung out with St. Louis Jews at the Fox and Hounds Tavern in the Cheshire Inn. More than 30 people showed up to the event, hosted by SLIC. The St. Louis Israel Connection (SLIC) hosted the sold-out “Taste of Israel” event on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Share Zedek Synagogue. A very successful inter-agency collaborative effort by Jewish Federation's YPD and JCRC's SLIC brought out 100 young adults to hear about what is "Born in Israel and Used by You" on Wednesday, June 7th at the Regional Arts Commission. Larry Weinberg, Executive Vice President of Israel 21C, a non-profit designed to re-brand Israel, spoke passionately about how "everyday, Israel positively makes our lives, as Americans, safer, healthier, more efficient and just easier." Event chairs were YPD's Ken Rosenbaum, Michael Novack and SLIC's Laura Levey.
